Comics hail 'Professor'
Scott Hettrick

HOLLYWOOD It was Martin and Lewis again, sort of, at Paramount's Oct. 12 screening of the restored "The Nutty Professor" on the studio lot.

Rather than longtime comedy film duo Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, this time two other Martins, Steve Martin and Martin Short, teamed up for laffs during the post-unspooling Q&A.

In a reversal of his usual role, Lewis played straight man to the two Martins, who stormed out to the lobby in mock protest when Lewis said his favorite comedian was Charlie Chaplin.

They were followed shortly thereafter by Tom Hanks, who asked Lewis who his favorite dramatic actor is, then bolted in a huff when Lewis responded, "Denzel Washington."

Also on hand: Par's Rob Friedman and fellow Lewis fan Larry David.
